You Can't Escape the Pull of Physics!

Welcome!
Welcome to Ms. Milner's Physics blog! Here you'll find excellent resources as well as unexpected ways that physics plays a role in your life. Physics is everywhere and it's not all boring! Observe:
Think about how physics plays a role in your everyday life. From simply getting out of bed to throwing a ball to riding in a car, physics is all around us!
Bust that Myth!
Watch the clip from an episode of Mythbusters:
Think About This:
1. What would you have to do to the penny in order for it to embed itself in the sidewalk?
2. How much faster do you think the penny would have to go in order to make an impact on the sidewalk? Is this physically possible?
Cartoons Defy Physics!
Have you ever been watching Looney Tunes or any superhero show and thought, "How can Bugs Bunny just jump twenty feet like it's nothing?" or "Why can the Road Runner run through that painted tunnel but not Wil E. Coyote?" Cartoons seemingly have their own set of physics laws.
Watch the 3 clips below looking for ways that the cartoons defy our laws of physics. Jot down a couple of physics laws that the character follows and be prepared to bring them to class to share.
Ex: A body will fall at the same rate as an object they dropped. (i.e. Wil E. Coyote dropping an anvil down a canyon and falling at the same rate)

Build Your Own Scream Machine!
I want you to stop right where you are and think about the experience of riding a roller coaster. How did you feel as you were headed towards that steep drop? How much could you move as you rounded the loop-di-loop? Gravity, G-forces, speed and acceleration were all working on your body simultaneously.
Now it's your turn to make a roller coaster! Follow the link below to design your own coaster.

Let's Sing a Song!
Everybody likes to sing, right? Well maybe not everyone! But putting information into a song is a great way to boost your memory. I still remember the Preamble to the Constitution thanks to School House Rock!
Create your own song that explains a physics concept. Remember that we have studied force, motion, speed, acceleration, gravity, centrifugal force, friction and more! Be creative!
If you need help, here are some videos that will give you some inspiration:
